I have used a mask throughout the video to convey different emotions women got hrough in different situations daily. The mask is used as a way to show the emotions that they feel but are told to hide it to fit into the narratives created by a patriarchal society.

Fear -The video shows a girl walking on the street always onguard. Women still feel compromised in their safety due to low visibility areas, poorly lit spaces, and deserted streets .Public transportation after sunset feels like an unsafe environment. I have shown the sentiments of a woman through the mask and how it is watching out for danger and freezes when it senses that something is wrong.
Disgust - I have shown a girl looking in front of the mirror,the mask covering her upper body almost embodying the emotion that the girl is going through. There is a growth of body hair that the girl is told to always shave as it is not very woman-like. She is often told to preserve her personal beauty,deeming it a part of her glory. It creates a negative body image for women. She ends up loathing her body if it is not up to the beauty standards often created to please men.
Anger - Creating a force around shaking with highest frequencies. Using the imagery of men pulling thewoman’s hair and the rage that comes out of the paincaused. A step towards being unladylike, unbecoming,off-putting, rebellious. To widen the rage gap, telling women its important to be angry.
Courage - creating a statement – Letting go of the mask, Rediscovering self ,not fitting into the standards and opinions made by a patriarchal society, Standing up for your self dignity.
Wonder - I have used ships as a symbol to wonder in thehidden depths of oneself. The hair extends and turns into water. Women like to express themselves in various ways and it gives a sense of liberation.
Peace and love - The thing that men and women share together – being human, being part of nature which is my imagination for a utopian society.Society is the one that imposes and teaches both men and women the dualities of sexuality as well asthe presumptions that light is associated with good and darkness with evil. In accomplishing the aspect of unlearning one goes back to nature and knows nothing of what society teaches others, achieving ignorance.A society where balance is achieved and the masks which hide us are buried deep down in the ocean.
